Compliance
All pages comply with the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Priority 1 “ Techniques for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 ” and the U.S. Federal Government Section 508 Guidelines “ Section 508: Electronic and Information Technology.”
Further, WCAG Samurai Errata for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 1.0 recommendations are followed, when possible. And, selected roles from Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) Version 1.0, 3.4 Roles are used as document landmarks.
Accesskeys
The Elementary Standards does not use Accesskeys. WCAG Samurai Errata for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 1.0 offers,

Design for device-independence
- Do not use server-side imagemaps.
- Do not create a custom tab order using
tabindex. Do not usetabindex. - Do not create custom keyboard controls using
accesskey. Do not useaccesskey.
Links
All pages rel=home; some pages have rel=previous and rel=next links to aid navigation in text-only browsers and screen readers. Many links have a title attribute which describes the link in greater detail unless the text of the link already fully describes the target. Whenever possible, links are written to make sense when read out of context. Further, links with the same link text always point to the same address.
